Donating To Charity Is Proven To Increase Mental and Physical Health Of The Donor
When you donate to charity, you are helping fellow human beings in need. And when you help people, it is scientifically proven to have positive effects on your mental and physical health.
A Happier Brain
One of the biggest effects that giving has on a person’s health, takes place within the brain. Studies have been conducted that show chemicals in the brain being altered in a positive way, when a person helps another person.
These studies showed that when a person knows that a specific gesture that they made is going to help another person, it has the same effect on the brain as though you just exercised, hugged someone or experienced some sort of joyful event.
Better Self Esteem & Self Confidence
Donating and helping others also has a major effect on a person’s self esteem and self confidence. Knowing that your donation is going to have a positive impact on someone’s life, someone who is less fortunate and truly needs the help – just makes you feel good. It increases dopamine in the brain, which in return will make you happy. When you are happy, your self esteem and self confidence rises!
A Greater Life Expectancy
Over the years studies have been conducted that concluded the correlation between donating to charity and a great life expectancy. Those who donated to charity and helped others often, were known to live longer, happier and healthier lives. When you give to a charitable organization and know that your gift is helping someone in need, you are not only helping that person, you are in return helping yourself and benefiting your own health.
Giving Really Does Make A Difference – In So Many Ways
The next time you are thinking of stopping by your favorite coffee spot and treating yourself, think about possibly taking that little bit of money and donating it to those less fortunate. Your mind, body and heart will thank you and the person who receives help from your donation will most certainly thank you.
There are millions upon millions of children and families that need our help. It truly takes a village of helpful and caring people to take that simple step and donate to charity. It doesn’t matter how little the donation may be, every single cent helps and can truly change someone’s life.
